Woven by villagers in their homes in the High Atlas Mountains, our cactus silk pillows showcase the detailed craftsmanship of traditional Moroccan textiles. Originally created as rugs but reimagined as pillows, the soft cactus silk – locally known as "Sabra" – is woven on traditional wooden looms into patterns featuring ancient symbolic motifs. Hand-dipped in dyes of spectacular hue, the fabric is then sun-bleached and air-dried to achieve its unique, burnished character.
Given that these are all woven by hand, variations in color and design are inherent, which add to their authenticity and charm.

About Cactus Silk
Cactus silk – locally known as "Sabra" – is a plant-derived silk harvested from Saharan aloe vera cacti. It is woven on traditional wooden looms into patterns featuring ancient symbolic motifs. Hand-dipped in dyes of spectacular hue, the fabric is then sun-bleached and air-dried to achieve its unique, burnished character.
Care
Never machine wash your pillow cover - the spinning motion of a washing machine will destroy the delicate fibers. Absorb any liquid spills with paper towels or a clean cloth. Dry cleaning is the best option for removing stains.
