Her eye for detail and passion for creating polished designs led her to craft her first leather piece, a pouf, which quickly gained attention. As her work gained recognition, she transitioned to making leather bags, each imbued with the essence of Moroccan tradition and modern craftsmanship. Rkia’s leadership and innovative designs have been integral in shaping Fano Jild, which translated to the art of leather, into a cooperative that empowers women and celebrates the rich heritage of Moroccan leatherworking.

In 2023, the king of Morocco honored Rkia and Souad's team by recognizing the excellence of their craft and gifting them a workshop in the heart of the old medina.
