When Malena was 10 years old, her grandfather began teaching her to weave, starting with simple designs that later became more and more complex. Her favorite part of the process is the moment the colors and the designs start to come together.
Malena and her husband, Hugo, work together in a fluid, collaborative process that takes advantage of their skills and interests.
In their free time, Malena and Hugo love to spend time together with their family, cooking and enjoying a peaceful life. They especially enjoy Oaxacan traditional enchiladas and pozole.
