I dreamed of a community that celebrates this artistry and forges direct partnerships with artisans. Today, with the AMASOUK team, artisan partners, and the support of a folks like you, that dream has come to life, creating meaningful connections to the incredible people and cultures behind every creation.
AMASOUK started by partnering with a few select artisans in Morocco, primarily focused on pillowcases and leather poufs. In 2024, we took bold steps forward: expanding beyond Morocco to collaborate with talented artisans in Japan and Mexico. We started that journey in Himeji, Japan—a city that is renowned worldwide for it's premium quality leather and Himekawa, a naturally white leather once used for samurai armor and is now a sought after material for premium handbags. With simplicity and functionality as our guide, we partnered with Taka and Shinya to design the Origami collection.
We also ventured to Oaxaca, Mexico—a city renowned as a global hub for the art of weaving. In collaboration with a group of master weavers, we proudly introduced the Mexico Collection. Many of the traditional designs featured in this collection draw inspiration from pre-Hispanic Zapotec ruins, such as Mitla and Monte Albán, with each symbol carrying profound cultural significance. It is an honor to share these extraordinary designs and the rich heritage they represent with you!
