Mesa Clutch
The Mesa Clutch draws inspiration from wide-open skies and sun-drenched earth. Its Zapotec diamond motif in ochre, sky blue, and earthy brown evokes the balance of horizon and desert floor. Handwoven wool panels are paired with supple leather corners for a look that’s both bold and grounded. Inside, a lined compartment with a pocket keeps your must-haves neatly in place. Finished with a leather tassel pull, it’s a clutch that carries a touch of Oaxaca’s landscape wherever you go.
- Bag: 11"W x 8"H
- Interior: One interior open pocket
Each piece is handwoven using traditional techniques, and slight variations in color are a natural part of the process. Differences in dye lots, fiber absorption, and the artisan’s individual touch can result in subtle shifts in tone from one bag to the next. These variations are not imperfections, but a reflection of the handmade nature of each piece—making every bag uniquely its own.
Our artisan partners utilize aniline and natural dyes, including indigo.
As a natural part of the carbon cycle, wool is one of earth’s most sustainable materials. Energy from plants is converted to wool through the sheep, and the sheep’s manure helps more plants grow. This is a natural and renewable process that is gentle on the animals, and the environment.
In addition to the light footprint of wool’s creation, it is a quality and long-lasting fiber, which means that wool lasts longer and requires less laundering than other textiles. Wool is also one of the most recycled fibers, and eventually, at the end of its life, it is one of the most biodegradable.

Many of the traditional designs found on our Mexico Collection are taken from pre-Hispanic Zapotec ruins such as Mitla and Monte Alban. Each of these symbols has a deep cultural meaning to the people who weave them. We are honored to share these beautiful designs with the world.
