This leather is sourced from a 100-year-old tannery in Himeji, renowned for its craftsmanship. It undergoes traditional pit tanning, a time-honored vegetable tanning process using mimosa tree extracts, which impart a distinctive reddish hue to the tanning liquid. The hides rest in pits for an entire month, a method preserved by just four skilled tanners. The result is leather with remarkable structure and enhanced water resistance, a testament to its exceptional quality and rarity.
Made with veg-tanned, pit-tanned leather, this bag is designed to last a lifetime! You can keep it looking fresh by following these simple guidelines:
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe off any dirt or debris.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat, as that will cause the leather to dry out more quickly.
- You may notice that the leather at the corners of some bags may become dry more quickly. Give your bag a little TLC with a small dab of leather conditioner.
