Every piece of woven leather in our Morocco Collection has been lovingly woven by braiding expert Ibtissam. As the daughter of Souad, Ibtissam has known the world of leatherwork her entire life. "It’s what I opened my eyes to," she shares. "I've been playing with leather since I was five."
Though she studied nursing and continues to pursue that career part-time, Ibtissam always finds herself drawn back to her first love: leatherwork. For her, it’s more than a craft—it’s a lifelong passion.
When asked about her favorite aspect of leatherwork, Ibtissam emphasizes the importance of every step in the process. However, braiding holds a special place in her heart. "It’s what I’m best at," she says with a smile. Braiding demands a sharp memory and full concentration to ensure each strand falls perfectly into place—a skill that Ibtissam has mastered over years of practice.
